Terms of Service

Last updated: 8 October 2026

1. About these terms

These terms are the agreement between you and Brighter Being Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16863908) at Hill House, Church Lane, Glascoed, Pontypool NP4 0UA. They cover your use of the Brighter Being app and its features.

By creating an account you agree to these terms. Please read them, and our Privacy Policy, which explains how we use your information. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Nothing in these terms takes away your rights as a consumer under UK law.

2. Who can use the app

  • You must be 18 or over. We check your date of birth when you sign up, and we will close any account we find belongs to someone under 18.
  • The app is currently available in the UK only.
  • You must give us true details, especially those used to set your goals (such as your date of birth, height and weight).

3. Your account

  • Keep your password safe and don't share your account. You are responsible for what happens on it.
  • Tell us straight away at support@brighter-being.com if you think someone else has used your account.
  • You can change your details or delete your account at any time in the app settings.

4. Subscriptions, trials and cancelling

Paying through the App Store or Google Play

  • You can subscribe monthly or yearly. The price is shown in the App Store or Google Play before you buy.
  • New users get a 7-day free trial. If you don't cancel before it ends, your subscription starts and you will be charged.
  • Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
  • Apple or Google take your payment, and their terms apply to it. We never see your card details.

Cancelling

  • Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
  • When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.

Refunds

  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, so please ask them first.
  • By law you usually have 14 days to cancel a digital service. When you subscribe, you ask us to start the service straight away, so that right ends once you start using it. This doesn't affect your rights if the app is faulty or not as described.

Price changes: we will tell you before any price change applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.

5. Access through your employer

If your employer or another organisation pays for your access, you join with the code they give you and don't pay anything yourself.

  • Your account is yours, not your employer's. Your employer never sees your personal information or what you do in the app (see our Privacy Policy).
  • Using the app is your choice. You don't have to join because your employer offers it.
  • Your organisation access ends if you leave that organisation or its plan ends. You can then carry on with your own subscription.

6. Not medical advice

Brighter Being gives general information about nutrition, exercise, sleep and wellbeing. Your calorie, protein and fibre goals are worked out automatically from general guidelines. They are a starting point, not a prescription.

  • The app is not medical advice and doesn't replace your GP or another health professional.
  • Speak to a health professional before making big changes to your diet or exercise, especially if you have a medical condition or injury, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have had problems with eating.
  • Stop any exercise that causes pain or makes you feel unwell.
  • In an emergency, call 999.

7. Community rules

The app has a global chat, organisation chats, and comments and polls on our articles and videos. To keep them friendly and safe, you agree not to:

  • harass, bully, threaten or abuse anyone
  • post anything hateful, discriminatory, sexual, violent or illegal
  • share someone else's personal information without their permission
  • pretend to be someone else
  • promote extreme dieting or eating disorders, or give unsafe or false health advice
  • advertise, sell or spam
  • try to hack, copy or interfere with the app, or access other people's accounts

We moderate the community. Organisations can also appoint a moderator for their own organisation chat. We or they may remove posts that break these rules, and we may suspend or close accounts that do.

If you see something that worries you, report it in the app or email support@brighter-being.com.

8. Your content

You own what you post. By posting it, you give us permission to show it in the app to the people it's meant for, and to store it while your account is open. We won't use your posts in our advertising without asking you first.

You can delete your posts at any time, and they're deleted when you delete your account.

9. Local partners, events and creator codes

  • Local partners and discounts: the app lists local wellbeing businesses that offer subscribers a discount or free first visit. The business provides the service, not us, and their own terms apply. Offers can change or end, and we don't share your details with partners.
  • Community events: we list local health events, such as park runs and charity walks, for information only. They're run by other organisers, so check details with them before you go.
  • Creator codes: if you join using a creator's referral code, that creator may earn a commission. They don't see who you are or anything about you.

10. Our app and content

The app and everything we create for it, including recipes, articles, videos, workouts and our name and logo, belong to us or the people we license them from.

You may use them for your own personal use while your account is open. Please don't copy, share, sell or republish them without our written permission.

11. Our responsibility to you

We will provide the app with reasonable care and skill. We will try to keep it running smoothly, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during updates.

  • If the app is faulty, tell us and we will try to fix it. UK consumer law gives you rights if digital content or services are faulty or not as described, and nothing in these terms affects those rights.
  • We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
  • We are not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable, or for business losses, because the app is for personal use.
  • We don't exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.

12. Suspending or ending your account

  • You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time.
  • We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, for example the community rules, or if we have to for legal reasons. Where we can, we will warn you first and explain why.
  • If we close the app altogether, we will give you reasonable notice and refund any subscription fees you have paid for time you can no longer use.

13. Changes to the app and these terms

We may update the app, for example to add features or fix problems. We may also update these terms to reflect changes to the app or the law.

If we make an important change, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the change applies.

14. Your privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with and your rights. You can read it at brighter-being.com/privacy-policy and in the app.

15. Complaints and the law

If you're unhappy with anything, please contact us first and we will do our best to put it right.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.

If part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest still applies.
